Bid Manager interview questions
A bid manager can make or break a bid with high attention to detail, focus, communication, persuasion,
compliance driven methods.
Following are some of the questions a Bid Manager can potentially encounter. If HR allows it, consider
giving an executive summary and ask the Bid Manager to provide their feedback..
 What has been your greatest accomplishment so far?
 What is your opinion of Win % as a KPI for a bid manager?
 Sales people want you to bid on every opportunity they think is worth bidding on. What's your
involvement in Bid/No bid decisions and what factors do you consider while taking up bid
support for a specific project.
 Give us an example of the recent bid sections that you wrote. How did you go about it?
 What's your opinion of Bid winning probability assessment? In your experience, what % usually
has resulted in higher success?
 What is your management style?
 Describe the stress levels in your role and what you do to manage it.
 What is the split in terms of Government and Private bids that you have participated in the last
year?
 Which vertical do you find it the most challenging to comply and respond? Give us a few
examples.
 How many bids did you submit last year? Can you provide an approximate breakdown in terms
of small, medium and large size bids?
 We all have had oversight in bids through our career. Can you provide couple of examples?
 Have there been instances where your submitted bid was Disqualified due to compliance
issues?
 What was the smallest and largest bids you ever submitted in terms of dollar value?
 What challenges are you looking for in this role?
 What are the areas of learning you have utilized to improve your knowledge in the bid
management?
