Snapshots Large leases* with growing footprints focus on new submarkets Source: JLL Research • Over the last five quarters, leases greater 20,000 square feet signed with a growing tenant footprint have increasingly targeted the Northwest, Western East–West, and O’Hare submarkets, demonstrating tenants’ success in building and growing their businesses there. • While the Eastern East–West continues to see the majority of large, growing suburban leases, the increased interest in these submarkets signals a preference shift south and west of the prior five quarters. • Caterpillar’s recent decision to occupy the North (Lake County) submarket is a good sign for the area, as they will look to build on that momentum during the remainder of 2017.
