Chromatography 6 v k12 in english hb ll 070
1. Hello this is a nice assignment and some
pictures on chromatography
• Made by han buwalda luzac lyceum the hague
• My second work: hanbuwalda.teamasea.com
is on a breakthrough (nobelprice equivalent) on cellullar health
3. Paper chromatography
• Most known by separating the colours
out of markers
• You draw a point just above the
level of the liquid (your solvent
in NL ‘loopvloeistof’//running liquid)
• Due to the ratio of adsorbance and solubility the colours (= distinguishable
compounds) will separate on ‘climbing up’.
• wiki/Papierchromatografie
• Please try this at home using different
markers and a bit of diluted vinegar
4. Assignment
• What types of chromatography are available?
• What are the key elements? Make a list individually
• Compare the different methods.
• What do they have in common? Compare together
• Do you all understand it all?
• Make another list of the shared key elements/principles .
The last list contains the principles of the technique to analyse ….?
• Include pictures!!!! Talk about it.
• You can do this assignment using the expert method.
• Eg 4 students each study one technique and share their results and then using a
chairman make a list of the chromatography features.
• Eventually each student should be able to apply this knowledge in an unknown situation.
5. Liquid chromatography
• We take high pressure LC = HPLC
• The key to success is to vary
• The solvent
• The column
7. From a Dutch assignment (K9 or class HV3)
