4. DISADVANTAGES OF NATURAL DYES
Difficult to reproduce shades.
Difficult to standardize a recipe
Low color yield
Lack of availability of precise technical knowledge on
extraction and dyeing techniques.
Dyed textile may change color when exposed to the
sun, sweat and air.
Nearly all-natural dyes with a few exceptions require the
use of mordants to fix them on to the textile substrate.
