  1. keep today’s presentation very simple…sometime the simpler they are, the easier they are to understand and learn from. I’m going to cover two key items today, the first is a straight forward process for successful quality testing AND my personal choices for KPI and Metrics…one that I have found most useful and what most management is interested in to evaluate project success, quality coverage, test status
  2. there are two individuals I admire most for their ability to understand quality and the value of measures. the first is Galileo . you’ll hear from Albert Einstein in a few minutes. Galileo once said, count…..measurable, we sometimes have to get creating but there is usually always some way of measuring you success or progress with any initiative.
  3. so why do we measure quality in the first place…we’ll the items on slide #4 might apply to you and your organization (read slide items) let me touch on a few insights that I have about Quality and measures today…
  4. 1 st bullet – necessary evil, overhead 2 nd bullet – we don’t communicate our value well enough to our organizations. we don’t like to toot our own horm 3 rd bullet – some management is not sure what they want to see or how quality should be represented in their business. some have little or none quality reporting, some try to automate as much as possible, 4 th bullet – organization need to ensure the quality testing done in support of business projects align with the goals of the organization
  5. with that being said, we need to focus on the following on slide 6 for going forward. to adequately approach quality testing we need to determine the following… (read slide)
  6. before I get into the real content of today’s presentation let me give credit where credit is due. I’m going to reference a model that was first introduced to me many years ago. Many of you listening today I’m sure have heard of Mercury Interactive. A book that was shared with me entitled “Optimize Quality For Business Outcomes” contains the basic process for today’s presentation…I’ve adapted it for my usage. I hope you find it useful too…so let’s get started…
  7. here are the key components for a SUCCESSFUL quality measurement and management process…the steps are simple but necessary to achieve a quality outcome…(read steps
