Master Healer Dr. Pankaj Naram and California Coastal Commission’s Ban on Orca Breeding for SeaWorld
1. Master Healer Dr. Pankaj Naram and California
Coastal Commission’s Ban on Orca Breeding for
SeaWorld
2. October’s ban of orca breeding at SeaWorld San Diego and Master
Healer Dr. Pankaj Naram. The California Coastal Commission voted in
October to approve a $100 million expansion of the SeaWorld orca
whale tanks for the facility in California, but banned these captive
mammals from breeding either naturally or through artificial
insemination. So this act is essentially saying that the 11 orcas that
are there will be it- no more. Recognized as both a practitioner of
alternative medicine and a believer in the rights of animals, Master
Healer Dr. Pankaj Naram is hopeful about developments like this.
Master Healer Dr. Pankaj Naram advocates protection for all animals,
including these aquatic creatures. Many people share the view that
they need to be in their natural environments, free to be a part of
the oceans as they were meant to be, especially after the
film Blackfish brought the plight of the captive orca whale to a
mainstream audience.
3. The commission’s amendment additionally
stipulates that orcas at the San Diego park may
not be sold, traded or transferred. So while the
other SeaWorld parks are not affected by the
ban, they may not be enhanced from acquiring
the whales from San Diego.
4. The conditions in which the orca whales are kept, mandated
pharmaceutical use, separation from family members and daily
sufferings in captivity are a concern to animal advocates like
Master Healer Dr. Pankaj Naram. A noticeable difference that
anyone can see is that captive orcas have a limp dorsal fin, whereas
wild orcas do not. Scientists have not yet figured out exactly why
this phenomenon occurs but to the naked eye, it appears that the
captive orcas are obviously not as physically healthy as their free-
swimming brethren.
While there is a long way to go, Master Healer Dr. Pankaj Naram
feels acts like this are a solid step forward for not only the whale
but also the consciousness of humanity. He hopes this decision
will be the beginning of a more environmentally conscious
SeaWorld and may eventually spread to the other SeaWorld parks
in Texas and Florida, so no more whales or trainers must be
harmed.
