2. Electric tooth brush
It has been discovered that compared to a manual
brush, the multi-directional power brush does the
better job in reducing gingivitis and plaque.
Interdental brush
An interdental or interproximal ("proxy") brush is a
small brush, typically disposable, used for cleaning
between teeth and between the wire of dental
braces and the teeth.

3. Sucla brush:
A Sulcabrush is a type of toothbrush used specifically for
cleaning along the gumline adjacent to the teeth.
End tuft brush:
The small round brush head comprises seven tufts of tightly
packed soft nylon bristles, trimmed so the bristles in the center
can reach deeper into small spaces

4. Chewable toothbrush:
A chewable toothbrush is a miniature plastic
moulded toothbrush which can be placed inside
the mouth. While not commonly used they are
useful to travelers and are sometimes available
from bathroom vending machines.
Ecological toothbrushes:
Traditionally, toothbrushes are made of plastic.
Such brushes constitute a source of pollution

13. INTERDENTAL AIDS
A toothbrush alone is not able to remove all the plaque (bacteria)
between your
teeth. The good thing is that there are several types of interdental
aids that can be
used to remove this plaque. The type of aid that you may decide
to use will depend
on the type of gingival embrasure space that you have. Embrasure
space refers to
the space in between your teeth that is filled up with the gingiva
(gums) papilla.
The following are types of embrasure spaces…

14. Embrasure spaces:
Type I: The gingival papilla fills up
the
embrasure space completely
Type II: The gingival papilla
partially fills the
embrasure space. Due to papillary
recession
Type III: The embrasure space is not
filled.
The gingival papilla has receded
extensively or it is completely loss

15. The following are different aids that can be used
to clean between your teeth:
Interdental Aid : Floss
Used for embrasure Space: Type I
Good for: Great for cleaning in between
teeth that have healthy, normal
gums and type I embrasure
space
Waxed- good for people with
tight contacts
Unwaxed- recommended for
people with normal tooth
contact

Under the pontic of a fixed

Under wires in orthodontic
appliances
