into intrahepatic (iCCA), perihilar (pCCA),
and distal (dCCA) cholangiocarcinoma
subtypes. The latter two subtypes were
previously grouped as extrahepatic CCA
(eCCA), but are now considered distinct
entities based upon differences in their
tumor biology and management.
