frazzled, worried, irritated,
lonely, inadequate, and blue.”

 Study of over 3,000 volunteers. Conclusion:
“Helping contributes to the maintenence of
good health, and it can diminish the effect of
the diseases and disorders both serious and
minor, physiological and physical.”

 Luks states that because the volunteers felt a
rush of euphoria, followed by a longer feeling
of calm, after performing a kind act. He calls
this “Helper’s High”
 More than 90% of the volunteers states that
volunteering produced feelings which are a
powerful antidote to stress.
 volunteering -> released endorphins -> sharp
reduction of stress

Start with a SMILE 
1. Whether real or forced
smile, it reduces stress
due to release of
endorphins
2. Easier to smile than
frown.
3. Most recognized facial
expression, 300 feet
away.

Study professionals, did
a 20 minute LKM these
individuals became:
- More successful
(professional &
personal life)
- Energy level increased
- Creativity level
increased
- Increased happiness

 1. Set aside approximately 20 minutes daily
 2. Close your eyes
 3. Take deep breaths
 4. Focus on the people that you care about
 5. Generate love towards them
 6. Increase that feeling state of love and
include yourself in that feeling state
 7. Add more people that you want to add
 8. Repeat if you can for 21 – 30 days.

 Positive Psychology is Science of Happiness.
 The three people affected by RAK: Doer,
Receiver, & Witness.
 RAK helps with Depression helps the person
think of another person besides self. Increase
chance of socialization and making another
person feel better.
 “Do Kind Deeds.”
