This document outlines a design history lesson that asks students to research and apply knowledge from different design movements. Students are asked to choose one of several movements including Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, or the Memphis Group. They then create a collage, design ideas for furniture, and a 3D model that demonstrates their understanding of the visual characteristics and principles of the chosen design movement. The goal is for students to learn about the historical context of design and apply that knowledge to generate new design concepts.
