1. DALLIN STEVENS
Dear Hiring Professional,
Thank you for taking the time to review my cover letter and resume. I offer meticulous attention to detail and
excellent verbal and written communication skills. My programming and leadership experience and status as a
Computer Engineering student make me an ideal candidate for an engineering position. Please review my
enclosed resume and qualifications below to consider how I would add value.
I am currently a Computer Engineering student at Utah State University where much of my coursework consists
of software and design engineering. Upon my graduation, I hope to continue to serve the community by
developing technology that will improve education and lift people from poverty.
I have applicable experience in technology. As a student at USU, I am taking classes in C++ and Computer-
Aided Drafting (AutoCAD). I previously worked as an intern for the Joseph Hunsaker Artificial Intelligence
Group Theory Project, where I created virtual test sites for a C# algorithm. I also completed classes at the
University of Utah where I learned Java and applied it in virtual and computing applications.
I troubleshoot complex situations and perform under pressure. During my first couple weeks as the
President of the Venture Scout Officers Association and Council Executive Board Member in the Northern
California Area, I faced the challenge of declining membership. The Council Board threatened to cut funding if
membership did not increase. In response, I developed an innovative marketing program to improve recruitment
and retention. As a result, recruitment and retention improved, and the program stayed within budget
constraints.
I contribute to a strong and positive work environment. As a Manager-in-Training at McDonald’s, my strong
work ethic and excellent customer service inspired subordinates, co-workers, and new employees whom I
trained to improve business performance.
Thank you for taking the time to review my qualifications and skills. I look forward to meeting with you to
discuss how I would add value. I can be reached at the email and phone number above.
Thank you for your valued time.
Sincerely,
Dallin Stevens
