Back-to-school shoppers are cutting back when they can.
57% do not plan to purchase laptops, desktops, tablets, or
mobile devices for school this year. 82% are either ex-
tremely or very concerned with saving money.
Commentary
Consumers do not want to purchase computing devices
on a regular basis. 58% said they expect a computer to last
at least five years. Additionally:
61% of back-to-school shoppers said they would
try to fix a slow computer themselves to save
money, rather than send for expensive repairs
It’s not the traffic headaches keeping back-to-school shoppers
away - only 9% of respondents were concerned with
crowded stores this back-to-school shopping season
Desktop Days are gone: if purchasing a computer for
back-to-school, consumers are 300% more likely to
select a laptop over a desktop
Back-to-school shoppers listed clipping coupons,
do-it-yourself projects, and fixing their own
computers as ways they save money
81% would be most inclined to put money toward
savings or paying off bills if given $1,000 to spend
