12. Click on the gear icon in the
upper right hand side of the
home screen to view and
update your privacy settings
including: Name, Mobile
Number, Email, and who can
view your Snaps.
14. From the home screen, swipe up and snap a photo by
pointing your phone at an object and tapping the circle
once or hold down to record up to a 10-second video.
Next, select the number of seconds you'd like your
photo to be seen, save your image to your camera
roll, or send to your story/friends (far right).
15. Select the # of seconds you'd like your picture to be
seen. Photo's sent to friends can be seen once. Photo's
sent to your story can be seen for 24 hours.
Choose who will see your photo or video, select
My Story for a 24 hour compilation or directly to
friends.
16. If sending pictures or videos
directly to friends, the next
screen will show you that it's
been sent and to who. From
this screen you can also see
once someone has opened or
viewed your Snap.
18. From the Home Screen, scroll up as if you are going to
take a picture. Tap on the icon on the bottom left side of
the screen, then click on caption icon (upper left side).
Once you've selected who you'd like to message
privately, tap on their name and type your
message. Then click the send button.
19. You can also use the front facing camera to take a selfie
and use one of Snapchat's filters as seen above. Hold the
screen for a few seconds to activate facial recognition.
Click send and you will be taken back to the
screen which shows recent chat activity.
Snapchat DM's work similar to a text message.
21. From the Home Screen, click on "Added
Me" to see who has added you or "Add
Friends" to start following someone.
You can add friends if you know their
Username, take a photo of their
Snapcode (QR code for Snapchat), or
have someone's Mobile Number stored
in your Address Book.
23. Snapcodes are unique, scannable codes that
make adding new Snapchat friends easy.
Your Snapcode is located in the center of your
Home Screen, found by tapping in the upper
center of the Camera Screen.
25. From the Home Screen, tap on your Snapcode to enlarge.
Click on the share button on the upper right side of the
screen.
Share your Snapcode to your Twitter and
Facebook timelines to make others in your social
network aware that you're on Snapchat.
