2. MSC MALAYSIA INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CREATORS
CHALLENGE (IPCC) 2012

3. INTRODUCTION
Started in 2006, the “MSC Malaysia
Intellectual Property Creators Challenge
(IPCC)” provides a platform for local talents
to hone their creativity in developing digital
content of world standard.

4. OBJECTIVE
• To create more quality content that can be developed,
showcased or marketed globally.
• To encourage and nurture new talents in turning their Ideas
into reality.
• To attract creative content developers to come out with
greater ideas and stories.
• To assist regional and local broadcasters looking for good
contents for their channel.

5. 2012 THEME
All Works submitted for the all IPCC categories must
adhere to the theme and incorporate Malaysian stories
including folklore, myth, legends or Malaysia elements
such as places in Malaysia, Malaysian culture, values and
history.

7. Animation Competition
Participants of the animation competition need to propose storyline and
concepts including :-
- Overview of the Project
- Mini Character Bible for the animation series
- Synopsis x 13 episodes
- Main Character Design/s and
- Characters Profiles
- Background Designs
- Business Model
- Production Timeline
- Budget
- Implementation Team

8. Animation Competition
- 30 submissions will be shortlisted to pitch their ideas and concepts to a panel
of judges consisting of funding agencies, broadcasters and industry experts etc.
- 15 best concepts will be given a grant of RM50,000 to develop
- Full character bible and character development for the 13 episodes
- 3 minutes sizzle reel
- The grant recipients will undergo a mentorship program to assist in the
development of story, concept and screenplay. Mentors include the
broadcasters, industry experts and professional script writers

Participants of the casual games competition need to propose ideas and concepts
for commercial ready casual games including
- Overview of the Project / Synopsis
- Game Details
- Business Model and Target Demographic
- Innovation and Unique Selling Point
- Production Timeline
- Budget
- Implementation Team
Casual games can be in any platform; pc, mobile phone, ipad, website etc

11. Casual Games Competition
- 20 submissions will be shortlisted and will pitch their idea and concept to
panel of judges consisting of funding agencies, games publishers, industry
experts etc.
- RM 50,000 will be granted to 10 best concepts to develop the commercial
ready casual games
- The grant recipients will undergo a mentorship program to assist in the
development of the casual games. Mentors include the publishers, industry
experts, etc

12. Digital Interactive Comic Competition

13. Digital Interactive Comic Competition
Participants of the digital interactive comic competition need to propose storyline
and concepts for their comic (minimum of 60 pages) including
- Digital Interactive Comic description
- Overview of the Project / Synopsis
- Main Character Design and Concept
- Proposed Digital Interactive Comic illustration samples (min 3 pages, max
8 pages)
- Digital Interactive Comic concept / samples (min 2pages)
- Production Timeline
- Budget
- Implementation Team

14. Digital Interactive Comic Competition
- 20 submissions will be shortlisted and will pitch their idea and concept to
panel of judges consisting of, comic publishers (online and printed), industry
experts etc.
- RM 25,000 will be granted to 10 best concepts to develop minimum of 60
pages of digital interactive comic
- The grant recipients will undergo a mentorship program to assist in the
development of the digital interactive comic. Mentors include the publishers,
industry experts, etc
