● Why have you decided to take the Digital Marketing
Nanodegree Program?
It is a long, uncertain journey ahead. You recently have graduated college and are at
least somewhat unsure of where you want to head in life. What some would call a “mid-life crisis”,
this would be a “quarter-life crisis” where you have no clarity about where you wanted to go in
life, perhaps you listened too much to your peers, family, teachers and more or less did what
“society” had told you to. Perhaps you began to realize this anywhere from junior to senior year of
college, but it had not really kicked in until graduation when you said “I got my degree, now
what?”
But what is the action to take in your life? (This may happen to only some of you)
There are so many lifestyle gurus on Instagram, Snapchat or YouTube, telling me Ferraris and
mansions are just a click away. Your friends posting awesome vacations, parents telling me I
should do this, but this feeling of anxiety and uncertainty as it seems there are at least 50
different ways to happiness.
This is where you determine where you want to take your life. The sooner, the better,
that quote: “good things come to those that wait” is garbage. You need to take action, action is
the cure to that brain fog you are experiencing as you are reading this, that feeling of uncertainty
of what your next action should be.
One answer to the action, is Udacity’s Nanodegree program. Specifically, for my
personality type and long-term goals, I decided digital marketing not only for the analysis portion
(I am a nerd when it comes to numbers, fitness and learning) but it is a new, growing industry that
has the power to grow whatever business I decide to use these skills for. Why Udacity?
Because I did not need to watch another YouTube video, take another college course or buy an
online course from a marketing guru. Like you, I was tired of this nagging feeling of uncertainty
and I knew that action would make me feel better.
I needed to showcase to employers and clients (freelancing) that I can do the work,
show projects that proof I can provide results. Increasingly, employers do not care about degrees,
certificates or in general what you know, they want to know: “Can this person produce results I
am looking for?” And what better way to proof that than with actual experience and testimonials,
showing that for every $9,456 you spent on YouTube Ads, you generated $26,451 in revenue,
$8,321 in profit? Or simply every $1 you spend on advertising, you get $3 back.
10. Summary
Choose three social media platforms you will use to
promote your blog.Write a short explanation about
why you chose those platforms.
In the following slides, put the copy and image you
will use for each social media channel. Use this blog
post from Hootsuite to help you understand image
copyright.
This will guide you in choosing the right graphic for

11. Platform 1 and Post
LinkedIn,
Specifically because LinkedIn is a professional social media site for
individuals that are career minded (or more success-oriented than
your average person on Snapchat for instance).
Since Udacity is not an online learning company, but also is a
career development resource (probably at least 90% of why
people go on Udacity, I would imagine), LinkedIn aligns with that.

$19,547 a year.
12. Platform 2 and Post
Quora
Quora because that platform is where individuals come to ask
questions and where deep answers are found. Quora would also
be where the my ideal audience is ages 23-35 and are already
highly educated.

13. Platform 3 and Post
Reddit
One reason is that Reddit users not only match the demographics
that I am searching for. But on the social media site, Reddit is a
platform for deeper conversations into various topics and is
similar to Quora in a sense.
