2. Chosen Goal & What Resonates
▫ My chosen is goal is “Improve Maternal Health” (Goal
5)
▫ I chose this goal because of the current debates going
on with abortion rights. There are lots of political
debates on this subject but not much discussion on
helping mothers and women’s health in general.
▫ This goal sheds light on how dangerous but powerful
motherhood can be for women.

3. Concern For Women
Something that stood out to
me was the focus on women’s
health. This health something
that has not really been a
focus.
What Resonates
Wanting To Learn More
One thing that was interesting
was that not all women do not
receive natal care. This issue
of inequity impacts women
everywhere and not much
being done.

Women’s Health
Centers
One way to promote the
health of women is to
create more access. This
means having more
centers for women to get
free healthcare before
and after having a baby.
Education
Educating women helps
them prepare for birth
and care for
themselves. This can
happen way before they
reach womanhood and
have birth.
WA Mandated
Maternity Leave
Having state required
maternity leave allows
for mothers to take care
of their babies without
any strain.

5. My Personal Contribution
A simple way I can help is to
educate my loved ones who
are beginning to start
families on resources.

6. Instagram Reels
Reels are quick way to spread
your content on Instagram
without having a lot of
followers. You can shoot, edit,
and publish a video spreading
awareness all on the app.
Social Media Impact
Twitter Spaces
Similar to Clubhouse, Twitter’s
Spaces allows you to have live
conversations with a group.
This would be a great place for
discourse on the issues going
on with maternity inequality.
