3. More water safety tips. .1. If you think conditions are too rough for you, don’t go in. .2. Always swim with a friend, not alone. .3. Swim parallel to and not away from the shore when you swim long distances.

4. Rips .1.If you do not swim between the red and yellow flags you can be caught in a rip. All beachgoers must be aware of the potential for dangerous rip currents. .2.Rip currents are powerful, channelled water currents flowing away from shore into the open ocean. They typically extend from the shoreline, to the surf zone, and past the breakers, and into deeper water. .3.Rip currents can occur at any beach with breaking waves.
