2. Greek Law
According to greek Law ( Νόμος 4736/2020 with the (ΕΕ) 2019/904 they
decided reduction of some plastics which is good for environment, for human
and recycling.
After five days of talks at the Fourth UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi,
which is the world’s highest-level environmental forum, attended by heads of
state, environment ministers, CEOs of multinational companies, NGOs,
environmental activists, and more, to discuss and make global commitments
to environmental protection. The Fourth UN Environment Assembly gathers
under the twin themes of innovative solutions for environmental challenges
and sustainable consumption and production, aiming to inspire nations,
companies, ministers . More than 170 United Nations Member States
delivered a bold blueprint for change, saying the world needed to speed up
moves towards a new model of development in order to respect the vision laid
out in the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
3. What should be done

From 3rd July stop some plastic products according to the europian law. And
from 1rst February 2021 these 10 products stop:
1) cotton swabs 2) plastic cutlery 3) plastic plates 4) plastic straws 5) plastic
drink stirrers 6) plastic balloon holders other than balloons for industrial or
other professional use 7) food containers made of expanded polystyrene
(styrofoam) 8) containers expanded polystyrene (styrofoam), as well as their
lids and lids 9) cups for expanded polystyrene (styrofoam) beverages, as well as
their lids and lids. 10) products made of oxidizable plastic.
4. In this context, Greece incorporated in Law 4376/2020
Directive 2019/904 for the prohibition of 9 disposable plastic
products from 3.7 2021, and the reduction of the disposal and
use of plastic cups and food containers and their replacement
with alternatives from 1.1.2022. The new EU legislation is an
opportunity that will lead all stakeholders to adopt a more
responsible mode of operation, action and consumption.
Greece is leading the joint European effort, taking relevant
measures and informing the general public and the market
about the new data earlier than the other countries.
5. The recycled orchestra
Some students of our school, with the help of their
teachers, decided to make music instruments from
everyday items. They had a lot of fun making them
and playing with them after they were finished.
7. Defenders of the sea
. The students cooperated with the “Defenders of the sea”
about plastic pollution in the Mediterranean sea. Ιt studies
waste on Greek coasts. It is Oceanopolis in Greece.
Students had an on-line meeting with the defenders of the
sea. They expressed themselves about plastic pollution and
found solutions.
